French EU Presidency: No to Corporate Gifts!
- politics and law
***action closed*** The email campaign against the sponsoring of the French Presidency has ended. Many thanks to over 45,000 supporters! Unfortunately, we were not able to stop the sponsoring of the French Presidency who continued to go ahead with the sponsorship from car companies. Member States are clearly unable to disassociate themselves from corporate interests and continue to put the reputation of the EU at risk. Germany held a sponsorship-free Presidency in 2020 and there is no reason why others should not follow the good example. On 1 July 2022 the Czech Republic will take over the Presidency and will be followed by Sweden, Spain and Belgium. We will continue to keep an eye on what they are doing – and if any multinational food company comes back to ‘partner’ our governments, we’ll let you know!
